Scientific committee
The programme of this International Conference “Public Budgeting Responsible to Gender Equality” has been organized in close collaboration with the European Gender Budgeting Network (EGBN).
Amaia Domingo, Equality Officer at Bilbao Municipality, and Priya Alvarez, Member of the European Gender Budgeting Network, Gender Equality Consultant and Director of Infopolis 2000, S.L. have been in charge of coordinating the programme and the different panels.
The European Gender Budgeting Network is created in Vienna, in 2006, during Austrian EU Presidency, with the aim of putting gender at the core of all work in quality public finance, promoting implementation of Gender Budgeting and demanding to publish annual reports on the impacts of macroeconomic and financial policies on gender equality in the EU and member states, in order to integrate gender equality as a priority in the political agenda and implement gender budgeting as a standard tool in budgetary policies at all levels to assess equality impacts of budgets and macroeconomic policies.
The European Gender Budgeting Network is an expertise-based organization composed by specialists who work actively in favour of Gender Budgeting implementation from institutions, private consulting companies and NGOs. More than 16 countries and 50 organizations are represented in the network.
